Katjuscha

The intercultural volunteer project KATJUSCHA was founded in 1998 by Raisa Hercher, the teacher and long-time lecturer in mathematics.

The aim was and is to actively support the integration of ethnic German children and young people through subject-related language support in natural science subjects - mainly mathematics, physics and chemistry.

People from other cultures can and should also expressly participate in the offers.

The participants in the remedial classes come from various elementary or comprehensive schools as well as grammar schools. Every week around 12-15 schoolchildren take part in the free tutoring offers.

In addition to the educational offers, we organize literary evenings, concerts and traditional festivals such as the Jolkafest, the 8th March festival, the festival of knowledge, the German-Russian autumn ball in cooperation with the Kiezspider, pelmenia evenings and much more.

To support the remedial teaching, the creation of a specific bilingual technical dictionary has proven to be very useful.

This directory is based on the textbooks for the subjects in the respective class levels. It also offers parents who have difficulties with the German language the opportunity to help their children appropriately in the individual subjects.
